Recently, several people have encouraged me to post another food/photo blog after the sucess of my dinner themed one a few months ago. I was game, especially as I had my eye set on a culinary hat trick, as it were.
For my mom's birthday present, I was attempting a triple desert to cap our Sunday brunch, and I thought that it would be the perfect opportunity to work on my food presentation and photography skills.
Unfortunately, (while delicious) the vanilla bean short bread and the rhubarb syllabub came out looking enemic in the photos, and I never could get just the right angle on the molten lava babycakes.
You can tell the booze was kicking in, here.

But to be totally honest, there was no doubt that the Red Velvet Cake would be the star of the day, and those pics came out splendidly. So here we go:
I think this graphic is pretty self explanatory... every one knows that cakes love frosting, but what happens when they collide...
